ABOUT OPO STARTUPS

Built for the Saint Charles Community Since 2015

OPO Startups is more than a coworking space. It's a community built by a St. Charles native who believed this city had everything it needed to become a destination for entrepreneurs and innovators.

OUR STORY

From a 1909 Post Office to a 50,000 Sq Ft Innovation Campus

OPO Startups was founded in 2015 by Randy Schilling, a St. Charles native who had spent decades building technology companies on and around Historic Main Street. After growing Quilogy, a national IT consulting firm with hundreds of employees, and founding BoardPaq, a software company serving boards and leadership teams, Schilling turned his focus to something bigger: giving the Saint Charles business community the infrastructure it needed to grow.

His first step was converting the abandoned 1909 Old Post Office building at 119 S Main St into a coworking and innovation space. The response from the local business community was immediate. That original building has since grown into an 8-building, 50,000+ square foot campus spanning a full city block on Historic Main Street, home to dozens of startups, remote workers, and small businesses.

Randy's vision was never just a coworking space. It was a community anchor, a place where a software startup, a digital marketing firm, a solo remote worker, and a local retailer could all share a building and make each other better. That vision is what OPO is today.

"This is becoming the hub for not just the startups but also for the merchants on the street. It's collaborating with your local community, your street."
