2021 OPO Demo Day Results

OPO Demo Day is a “Shark Tank” inspired pitch competition for entrepreneurs in the tech industry. Finalists have the opportunity to pitch their startup to 4 judges and a live audience for a chance to win cash on the spot! Every year Demo Day is held during STL Startup Week in St. Charles, MO. After taking a year off due to the worldwide pandemic, we were excited to get back to normal and host Demo Day once again at OPO Startups!

The 2021 competition was tough… but the finalists were narrowed down to four:

  • Veeper - A Shopify app that tracks customers' shopping habits to apply the optimum discount that gets them to buy more.

  • ToDue - A task management platform for remote teams.

  • Pronto - A storewide RFID Monitoring system and mobile self-checkout app that allows shoppers to skip the line and pay as they exit the store.

  • EDUrain - Gives students unprecedented access to college financial aid, including scholarships and off campus housing, all in one software platform.

Not only is prize money at stake for the finalists, but also exposure and valuable feedback from our judges (who are well known and successful in the entrepreneur world). The 2021 judging panel included:

The night was full of networking, pitches, local vendors, prize money and more! (The full event and pitches can be viewed here if you missed it!) After each pitch, the judges handed out cash on the spot for the most creative and inspiring presentations. After much questioning and consideration, the judges narrowed down the finalists to 1st and 2nd place winners. As scores were evaluated, the audience also got to participate and vote for their favorite pitch of the night! Every finalist walked away with a little cash, but the winners were narrowed down to:

  • 1st Place ($1500) - EDU Rain

  • 2nd Place ($1000) - Pronto

  • People’s Choice ($500) - ToDue

We would like to extend a thank you to our finalists, judges, audience and all of our sponsors! Without you this event wouldn’t be possible. (2021 Sponsors: Gravy, EDC, Schylight, SCCC, MembershipWare, OPO Startups, & STLstartupweek
